CLAY Ecosystem

This project was developed in a course of Clay and 3D Printing, during the spring of 2023. The course focused on exploring the relationship between humans, animals, and technology from different points of view. The projects, showcased in some ecological gardens, delved into two main topics: the ecosystems of dead trees, and bird-drone interactions. Through installations, artefacts, interfaces, and new interaction scenarios, the students challenged the boundaries between humans and animals, natural and artificial, living and dead, nature and culture, and offered new perspectives on the role of design in the Anthropocene era.

Here are some images from two of the “dead tree” projects that aimed to replicate the ecological significance of dead trees within the local ecosystem through the utilization of local materials such as wild clay and advanced 3D printing technology.
